How far in advance do I have to book my venue?

There is no deadline for this but your venue is a key component to your event process. Securing your date allows you to begin to line up venders for your special day. For these reasons you need to pick your location and date as soon as possible.

Can I pick my own vendors?

Yes, you may bring in any venders of your choosing provided they are licensed and insured. Proof of both will be required. This includes, caterer, bartenders, decorators, dj’s, bands, musicians, horse and carriages, photographer, photo booths, etc. We do have some local vendors listed on our website that have been prescreened for your convenience.

Do you allow alcohol?

Yes, we do. You must adhere to all federal and state regulations concerning alcohol sales and use. Attendees under the age of 21, of course, are not to be served. We ask that glass bottles are not to be used at all.

When can we set up and decorate?

You will be allowed access to the event space either the night before or the morning of the event. Set up time is limited to four hours. You will be required to have everything packed up and removed one hour after the event is completed. Additional time may be allowed if you request it.

Decorating guidelines

We are very proud of our building as it is approximately one hundred and twenty five years old. It has survived storms, floods, fires and numerous visitors. We wish to ensure its survival for the next one hundred and twenty five years. For this reason we ask that no one use open flames in our facility. Battery operated candles work wonderfully. Nothing should be taped to the walls. We do allow the posts to be decorated as long as attachment material doesn’t puncture the wood. Sprinkler pipes, plumbing pipes, or our antique stamped ceiling tiles are not to be used to hold décor items.

How many guests can you accommodate?

The Oakwood Room can hold 290 people however we ask that you consider the type of event you will be hosting. Whether you are hosting a cocktail style, plated dinner or buffet style will decide the appropriate guest count.

What items do you provide?

We have tables, chairs and seat cushions provided, at no additional charge, to seat 100 people. Additional seating and tables, if needed, can be rented from local vendors.

Do you provide linens?

White linens are available, both tablecloths and skirts, for an additional fee. Other linens selections can be rented from vendors.
